We Joined a Gym!!! OMG!

For the first time in  my life I am a member of a gym!!!!  We joined the YMCA on Saturday and got the tour.  They have child care there so we don't really have to worry about getting babysitters for the girls.  Maybe the kids will finally get some social interaction with other kids.  They are also starting their swim lessons this month, which is something I think Aubree would like to try. She's about that age where it's time to start learning how to swim :) Swim lessons are an additional fee though, so we'll see how it goes. 

There are so many different classes to take.  I think I may like the yoga classes.  Don't know about Zumba as I'm not really a dancing type girl lol.  Joey and I are going to the Spinning class on Thursday evening to give it a try.  They have water aerobics as well, which I think might be something I do when I'm pregnant.  I also like the elliptical.

We are really excited to be doing this!! It really makes this weight loss attempt "real" to me, I guess.  I can finally see an end to the fat in sight! Well, until after the next baby comes that is.......

Struggle to Lose Weight

I have had trouble losing weight since I've had my first daughter.  This has been hard for me to deal with because weight loss is not something I've EVER had to do!!

Coming out of high school, I weighed 100 pounds at 5'2".  Some people thought I was anorexic!!!  I totally wasn't.  I could eat anything and everything I wanted and not gain an ounce.  Boy, do I miss those days.  I gained about 10-15 pounds my first couple years in college.  Call it the "Freshman 15" if you will.  Once I met and started dating my now husband in my third year of college (long distance relationship), I gained about another 10 pounds.  This put me at 125 pounds.  I was completely happy with the way I looked then.  Actually I looked BETTER than I did when I graduated high school.  This is where I was at weight wise when I got pregnant with my first.  With her I gained 43 pounds.  I lost about 20 of that right after I had her but managed to gain it back and got up to 170 before I started trying to lose weight.  I took some diet pills and managed to get down to 135.  I felt great and looked good.  Before I got pregnant with my second daughter, I had gained back up to 148.  With her I gained 42 pounds.  I breast fed her, so I lost about 30 pounds right after having her.  That put me at 160.  I didn't really try to lose weight until she was about 9 months old.  I took Adipex for that weight loss and within 2 1/2 months I lost 27 pounds.  I was so happy.  But then I quit my job and became a stay at home mother.  My dream job!!  But it also left opportunities to eat more and become lazy with my workouts.  I pretty much quit doing them a couple weeks after I went off the Adipex because I wasn't seeing anymore results.  So, I let it go.  I've managed to gain back EVERY pound of that back plus a few more.  I feel so disgusting to myself.

So, now, here it is four months until we start trying to conceive our third baby and I'm back on the weight loss road again.  My goal is to lose AT LEAST 20 pounds before I get pregnant.  I've been dieting and exercising and lost 2 pounds since last Tuesday!!!  But, one of my friends posted on facebook about this "cardiac diet" and I researched it a little.  It's a three day diet where you can lose upwards of 10 pounds in those three days!!! Of course it sparked my interest! Ha Ha!!!  I'm on Day 2 of this diet and I was down 3 more pounds when I got on the scale this morning!!! Very happy about that!!! I am still continuing my exercise routine with this. I really hope the weight loss keeps up.  I would be so happy to lose all 45 pounds before I get pregnant again.  I wanna be a sexy pregnant mama!!! :)
